The 1984-85 League campaign was a successful one for Servette Geneva, which saw the club finish as Swiss champions for the fifteenth time in their history. That title was won with a four-point margin over runners-up FC Aarau and was forged by excellent form at Servette’s Stade des Charmilles ground where just three points were dropped all season.
Fundamental to the success was the prolific scoring of Jean-Paul Brigger and Marc Schnyder who both hit double figures. Cup form was not quite so impressive with a Cup Winners Cup exit in the Second Round to the Greek side Larissa and Swiss Cup interest being ended in the semi-final stage by Aarau.
